Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the strength of a lining, by a method wherein a plastic pipe is heated and pressurized to expand it from the inside thereof while heating the plastic pipe by heating fluid from the outside thereof to adhere it to the inner surface of a pipeline to coat the same together with a soft tube at the outside of the plastic pipe. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic pipe 1 and a soft tube 3, made of rubber or thermoplastic and covering the outside of the pipe 1 with a peripheral gap 2, are inserted into a pipeline (a). When steam is supplied from a boiler 7 into the plastic pipe 1 through a supplying port 5b, the steam flows into the peripheral gap 2 to heat the plastic pipe 1 from the outside thereof. When the steam is supplied into the plastic pipe 1 through another supplying port 6a, the steam heats the pipe 1 from the inside thereof. When the supplying amount of the steam for the inside of the plastic pipe 1 is increased to increase pressure in the pipe so as to be higher than the outside of the pipe, the plastic pipe 1 is expanded radially together with the outside tube 3 and an expanded pipe 1' is adhered to the inside of the pipeline (a) to coat it together with the outside tube 3. According to this method, the lining becomes two layers and whereby the lining, excellent in strength, may be obtained.
