Summary:PURPOSE:To effectively obtain a solid drug preparation free from disagreeable taste of the drug, without using organic solvent or organic acid, by dissolving polyvinylacetal diethylaminoacetate in cooled water or a hardly freezing aqueous liquid and coating a solid drug with the solution. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed amount of polyvinylacetal diethylaminoacetate is dissolved in water or a hardly freezing aqueous liquid cooled to -10-+10 deg.C, preferably -5-+5 deg.C and a solid drug such as uncoated tablet, granule, etc., is coated with the obtained coating liquid by conventional method to obtain a solid drug absolutely free from residual harmful organic solvent, administrable without giving disagreeable taste of the drug and storable over a long period without causing deterioration of the coating film. It can be safely produced without causing the problems of environmental pollution, ignition, explosion or respiration of solvent vapor. Even a drug unstable to acid can be coated by this process.
