Summary:PURPOSE:To easily set and change a variable and to contrive to simplify hardware and to attain a high speed by using a programmable non-volatile memory for setting the variable. CONSTITUTION:When the initialization or the change of a variable setting and holding part 4 having the programmable non-volatile memory is generated, a setting and changing part 2 externally fetches (7) predetermined set data 1 and writes (8) in the variable setting part 4. Further, the delivery of the set variable to a processing part 6 is requested (9) to a reading part 5. The reading part 5 reads (10) the data of the variable setting and holding part 4 and delivers (11) to the processing part 6. The processing part 6 executes an operation according to the delivered set variable. Even when all the power supply is lost, the variable setting and holding part 4 holds the set data and when the power supply is resumed, the reading part 5 automatically reads and delivers the data of the variable setting and holding part 4 to the processing part 6, thereby, the processing part 6 resumes the operation.
