Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester film having excellent transparency and slipperiness, by adding fine particles of a specified maleimide polymer to a polyester and molding the mixture into a film. CONSTITUTION:A maleimide compd. (a) of the formula [wherein R1 and R2 are each H, halogen, a 1-15C alkyl or a (substd.) aryl; and R3 is a 1-15C alkyl, a cycloalkyl or a substd. aryl] (e.g., N-phenylmaleimide) is polymerized with optionally, a monomer (b) copolymerizable with the component (a) (e.g., methyl methacrylate) to obtain fine particles of a maleimide polymer (B) having an m.p. of not lower than 280 deg.C, pref. 300 deg.C and an average particle size of 0.05-10mu. 0.01-5wt% (based on the amount of the component A) component B is added to a polyester (A). The mixture is melt-extruded into a sheet, thus obtaining a film.
