Summary:PURPOSE:To make an excess latency time unnecessary to equivalently reduce the access time in case of repeat of recording/reproducing or erasing of information on the same track by providing a sector gap for track jump between the first sector and the last sector of the track. CONSTITUTION:A sector gap 5 is provided between the first sector S1 and the last sector SN of the track, and a light beam is jumped by one track completely within the sector gap 5 in case of recording/reproducing or erasing on the same track. Therefore, recording/reproducing or erasing of even the last sector SN and the first sector S1 of the track can be performed in the same rotation of a disk 1. Thus, a required operation is completed without the excess latency time.
