Summary:PURPOSE:To remove S-compound efficiently by using three or more columns of reactors filled with absorbent, carrying out each of reducing, absorbing, SO2 reducing and regenerating processes one by one, sending gas from regenerat ing process to SO2 reducing process and converting SO2 into S and recovering. CONSTITUTION:Dust removing gasification gas 6 is introduced to a reactor 25 and S-compounds such as H2S, COS and the like are absorbed and removed by an absorbent 28, in a reactor 27, gas circulation is operated by a heat exchanger 47, a cooler 61, a blower 63, the heat exchanger 47 and the reactor 27 to purge S-compounds. On the other hand, the line of reactor 24 for reduction, and a reactor 26, a S-condenser 50, a separator 52, a heat exchanger 56 and the reactor 24 for SO2 reduction, is put in a closed loop for gas circulation and SO2, SO3 and the like in the reactor 24 are converted into S by the reactor 26, cooled by a S-condenser 50 and recovered by a separator 52. The treated gas out of which S is removed is heated and re-circulated and removal of SOx is repeated.
