Summary:PURPOSE:To make it easy to activate or inactivate the tire for cars in the caption by installing spike pins of shape memory alloy in a heat generating belt-like metal base plate through hollow bodies for holding pins, and embedding the base plate in the tread of the tire so as to be energized. CONSTITUTION:A heat-generating metal belt 3 is energized through wirings 5, 6 from a battery or the like, so that the metal belt 3 generates heat. Shape memory alloy is activated by said heat, so that spike pins 3 protrude, achieving performance as spikes. If energizing is stopped, the temperature falls, and the spike pins 2 are embedded, so that the tire returns to a normal one. With this constitution, activating or inactivating a spike tire is made easy.
