Summary: | PURPOSE:To recover carbon from an aqueous suspension of carbon with easy operation preventing the blocking of line, without using naphtha, by dehydrating an aqueous suspension of carbon and uniformly mixing the obtained carbon cake with a liquid hydrocarbon having a specific viscosity. CONSTITUTION:Water is removed (with a dehydrator 2) from an aqueous suspension of carbon (introduced through a line 1) to obtain a carbon cake having a water-content of 10-90wt%. The carbon cake is uniformly mixed with >=20 times weight of a liquid hydrocarbon (introduced through a line 8) having a viscosity of <=200 cp in a mixing zone (mixer 6) under agitation. The obtained liquid suspension of carbon in hydrocarbon (taken out through a line 9) can be used as a gasification raw material or fuel. The retention time of the suspension in the mixing zone is preferably >=5min. The liquid hydrocarbon is preferably selected from distillates extending from fuel oil A to asphalt. |
