Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a titled thin alloy strip which is thick and broad and has large strain of rupture in bending, good mechanical properties and excellent surface characteristics by manufacturing said strip by a one-side cooling method in which molten metal flow is injected onto a cooling base plate under movement by using a nozzle having plural apertures. CONSTITUTION:The strong and tough Fe-base thin amorphous alloy strip which has >=50mum sheet thickness and >=20mm. sheet width, has >=0.01 strain of rupture in bending with the free surface of the as-quickly cooled thin strip faced on the outside, is broad and is thick is manufactured by the one side cooling method. Such strip is obtd. by ejecting the molten metal flow from the nozzle having the plural slot-shaped apertures having a substantial length l, stacking the molten metal flow onto the cooling base plate under movement at a high speed and cooling quickly the molten metal at a high speed in substantial contact time. The alloy consisting of the component contg. about 40-82at% Fe, about 8-17% B, about 0-15% Si, about <=7% C and about <=10% in total of P, Mo, etc. and other elements is adequately used.
