Summary: | PURPOSE:To increase the conductivity and electrolyte blocking capability by forming a bipolar plate with a composite material plate having a specified thickness using carbon fiber as reinforced fiber and carbon black-containing thermosetting resin as a matrix. CONSTITUTION:As carbon fiber, polyacrylonitrile carbon fiber or pitch carbon fiber is used. As carbon black, furnace black, acetylene black, or Ketjen black is used because of good dispersion capability into resin. The content of the carbon black is limited to 0.5-10wt% based on the resin weight from the standpoint of conductivity of a bipolar plate 3. The carbon black whose specific resistance under a pressure of 30kg/cm is 0.4OMEGA/cm or less, volatile matter is 0.1% or less, ash is 0.5% or less is used. The thickness of the bipolar plate 3 is 0.1-1.0mm. |
