CONSTITUTION:A polymer of an arom. vinyl compd. (e.g., styrene) is coupled with a polymer of a conjugated diene compd. (e.g., 1,3-butadiene) in the presence of a coupling agent (e.g., octachlorotrisiloxane) to obtain a block copolymer compsn. having an arom. vinyl compd. content of 10-90wt% and a soln. viscosity (25 deg.C, 25wt% toluene soln.) of 50-1,000 P, composed of at least 30wt% block copolymer of the formula (wherein A is a polymer block mainly composed of an arom. vinyl compd.; B is a polymer block mainly composed of a conjugated diene compd.; n is 5 or greater; X is a residue of the coupling agent).
