Summary:PURPOSE:To attain the recognition action without being influenced by an environmental change by registering prescribed parameter data into a storage device at the time of a teaching mode and collating them with the data after processing at the time of a recognition mode. CONSTITUTION:When an objective work (for example, bolt) 1a is photographed with a TV camera 2 at the time of a teaching made and a video signal is inputted to an image processor 3a, the device 3a executes the binarization processing and reflects the image on a monitoring TV 4. Next, the method to place the object 1a, the method to be illuminated and so forth are variously changed, a sub-model having a different image is prepared, and with a head part 5c as a second sub-model and a head part 5d as a third sub-model to a main shaft, parameter data are respectively registered. Next, at the time of the recognition mode, the same or the same type work 1a is photographed by the camera 2, the same processing is executed and the image is formed at the TV 4. Here, the device 3a, when the sub-model is absent, executes the usual recognizing processing and outputs the result. When the sub-model exists, searching is executed in the sequence in case of existing the equavalent model and then, the processing result is displayed and it is display that the equivalent model is absent when the model is absent.
