Summary:PURPOSE:To set a required pattern at correct position and angle even in an original whose original plane is not visualized, by projecting the pattern of the original placed on an original platen on a screen on which a reference position image corresponding to the position coordinate of the original platen is formed. CONSTITUTION:A movable mirror 5 is moved directly below the original at the time of setting and adjusting the position of the original 1, and the original 1 is placed on an appropriate position on the original platen 2. When a light source 4 is lit, the pattern of the original 1 is displayed on the screen 9 via the movable mirror 5 and a half mirror 8. Meanwhile, on the screen 9, a reference pattern signal from a pattern generator 21 is displayed on a display device 20, and the displayed image is displayed on the screen 9 via the half mirror 8. The adjustment of the position of the original placed on the original platen 2 is performed so that a pattern projecting image can be set at prescribed position relation with the reference pattern as visualizing the image on the screen 9.
