Summary:PURPOSE:To produce urea resin particles and inorganic compound particles which are insoluble in water and have broad particle diameter distributions, by separating the urea resin from an aqueous solution of a urea/formaldehyde precondensate by the addition of an acid and mixing the separated mother liquor with a specified reagent. CONSTITUTION:Sulfuric and/or phosphoric acid as a gelling agent are added to an aqueous solution of a urea/formaldehyde precondensate of a formaldehyde to urea molar ratio of 0.5-2 hr to obtain a urea resin-containing product. This product is separated into a urea resin and a mother liquor by centrifugation. A reagent (e.g., zinc silicate) which can react with said gelling agent to form water-insoluble inorganic compound particles is added to the mother liquor, and the mixture is reacted at room temperature to 200 deg.C for 0.1-20 hr to obtain inorganic compound particles.
