Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the titled Al alloy having especially superior strength, electrical conductivity, heat resistance and toughness by refining an Al alloy contg. prescribed amts. of Zr, Si, Fe and Cu and by successively subjecting the alloy to continuous casting, hot rolling, cooling, coiling, aging and cold rolling each at a regulated temp. and a regulated cooling rate. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy contg. 0.25-0.7% Zr, 0.10-0.4% Si, 0.10-1.0% Fe and 0.10-0.40% Cu is refined and continuously cast at a cooling rate of T1( deg.C) or above represented by equality I. The cast alloy is hot rolled at a start temp. of T2( deg.C) or above represented by equality II. During the hot rolling, the amt. of sol. Zr in the Al matrix is increased and the alloy is cooled at >=10 deg.C/sec cooling rate. The hot rolled alloy is coiled at <=150 deg.C and aged at 300-450 deg.C for 10-200hr to improve the strength and heat resistance. The aged alloy is cold worked at >=60% reduction of area to obtain the desired high strength heat resistant Al alloy for electric conduction.
