Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the titled stainless steel by mixing specific ratio of BN powders to the austenitic stainless steel powders contg. specific ratios of C, Si, Mn, Ni and Cr and applying the molded steel pieces of the mixture to hot working by hot isotropic pressurizing, thereby eliminating the deterioration of the hot workability. CONSTITUTION:The austenitic stainless steel powders contg., by weight, <=0.1% C, <=1.0% Si, <=2.0% Mn, 7.0-25.0% Ni and 11.0-27.0% Cr and the BN powders contg. 0.5-5% total of B amt. are mixed. Said mixture is then molded to the steel pieces by hot isotropic pressurizing and is thereafter applies to the hot working, by which the objective boron-contg. austenitic stainless steel for atomic energy is obtd. Said stainless steel can be utilized for the storage and conveyance of atomic waste which radiates neutrons or for a neutron shieldering material.
