Summary:PURPOSE:To perform the wide tube voltage control at the time of light load by providing an inductor connected in series to a serial resonance circuit and a switch short-circuiting the primary winding of a transformer and controlling the closing timing and period of the switch. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 31 is closed, the primary winding 6a of a transformer 6 is short-circuited. If the switch 31 is closed by one impulse of the primary current, the output voltage can be controlled. Since the switch 31 is connected to an inductor 30 and a capacitor 5 in series, the resonance operation is performed even if the winding 6a is short-circuited. When the tube voltage is changed, the resonance current in the opposite direction flows in the winding 6a due to the damped oscillation of a resonance circuit, but the closing period of the switch 31 is controlled by a switch control means 25 to suppress it. The high-voltage output can be thereby squeezed thoroughly at the time of light load, and a wide tube voltage control range can be obtained.
