Summary: | PURPOSE:To readily and stably obtain a polymer, by dispersing part of a (bis) maleimide compound which is a solid at ordinary temperature in the form of a slurry, keeping the dispersion for a given period, continuously feeding the remaining monomer and comonomer at a temperature in which the monomers are not melted and carrying out emulsion polymerization. CONSTITUTION:(A) Part or the total amount of a maleimide compound expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 are H, halogen, 1-15C alkyl, aryl, etc.; R3 is H, 1-15C alkyl, aryl, etc.) which is a slid at ordinary temperature and/or bismaleimide compound expressed by formula II (R4 and R5 are the same kinds as those of R1 and R2; R6 is >=2C bifunctional organic group) which is a solid at ordinary temperature is dispersed in the form of a slurry in a reaction vessel. A mixture solution of the residual quantity of the component (A) with the polymerizable monomer (B) is continuously fed while keeping the above- mentioned state for a given period after starting polymerization reaction to carry out emulsion polymerization and afford the aimed polymer consisting of 5-95wt.% component (A) and 10-95wt.% component (B). |
