Summary:PURPOSE:To make it possible to produce an oxide superconductive wire material easily by covering a sintered body or single crystals consisting of elements which compose the oxide superconductor with a metallic material, and giving a wire drawing process. CONSTITUTION:After the component elements of an oxide superconductor are mixed sufficiently, they are baked temporarily and powdered to get an oxide superconductor powder. The resultant powder after such a process is made in a desired form and sintered. By giving a specific sintering condition, crystal particles grow up to make single crystals. A coverage of a metallic material is given to the sintered body or the single crystal material gained in such a way, and a wire drawing is carried out to get a desired form. After this wire drawing process, it is heat-treated in an ambiance including oxygen. In this case, as the oxide superconductor, a perovskite structure oxide superconductor including a rare earth element of a high critical temperature is used. And as the metallic material, Ag or an Ag alloy mainly of Ag is used.
