Summary:PURPOSE:To make a device inexpensive by rocking and expanding/reducing an object to be edited with a common reference point of an input tablet and the object as the center so that a ratio of the distance from the common reference point to an input to that to a designated pointer is always a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:When an expanding/reducing device 2 is operated to designate an objective position A of the object to be edited by a designating pointer 21, coordinates of a corresponding position (a) are inputted to an input tablet 12. When a position B is designated by the designating pointer 21, coordinates of a corresponding position (b) are inputted. When positions C, D and E on the object to be edited are successively designated by the designating pointer 21 in the same manner, respective coordinates are inputted to the input tablet 12, and a pentagon abcde formed with respective coordinates is a form which is obtained by reducing a pentagon ABCDE of the object to be edited to 1/2 and is similar to the pentagon ABCDE. When coordinates are inputted to the input tablet 12, the coordinate input processing is performed by a coordinate detecting part in a device body.
