Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in flow and permanent set, by crosslinking a specified polymer composition in the presence of a phenolic curing agent. CONSTITUTION:Ethylene is copolymerized with a 3-12C alpha-olefin in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a solid component essentially consisting of Mg and Ti and an organoaluminum compound to obtain an ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer (A) of an MFR of 0.01-50g/10min, a density of 0.860-0.910g/cm , a max. peak temperature >=100 deg.C as determined by differential scanning calorimetry, and a boiling hexane-insolubles >=10wt.%. 0.5-10pts.wt. phenolic curing agent (e.g., tert-butylmethylolphenol) is added to 100pts.wt. polymer composition comprising 100 pts.wt. total of 30-70pts.wt. component A and 70-30pts.wt. propylene polymer (B) of an MFR of 0.01-50g/10min and 70-150pts.wt. ethylene/alpha-olefin/ conjugated diene copolymer rubber (C) of a Mooney viscosity of 10-95, and the obtained mixture is crosslinked by melt kneading at 100-250 deg.C to obtain a thermoplastic elastomer composition of a gel fraction of 3-60wt.%. |
