Summary:PURPOSE:To supply air having the optimum temperature and satisfactorily fuse inciner ated ash at all times, by a method wherein the air temperatures at the downstream of a gas air heater and the downstream of a second bypass passage are detected and the air temperatures are regulated to desired temperatures. CONSTITUTION:When temperatures, detected by temperature detecting means 32, 34, reach predetermined temperatures, a first bypass passage 16 is closed and high- temperature air in an air chamber after heat exchange is sent directly to an air supply ing means 11. On the contrary, when the temperature of the air does not reach a predetermined temperature, an air heater 29 is operated and, at the same time, the air is bypassed a second bypass passage 17 while closing the first bypass passage 16 and is heated to a predetermined temperature by an electric air heater 29, thereafter, is supplied to the air supplying means 11. When the temperature of combustion gas is too high and the fusing of the incinerated ash in the upstream part 7a of the passage 7 is promoted, the passage 16 is bypassed and atmospheric air is sent to the air supply ing means 11 through an air passage 21. In this case, atmospheric air is heated by the air heater 29 and, thereafter, is sent to the air supplying means 11 when the ambi ent temperature is low.
