Summary: | PURPOSE:To greatly improve the thermal efficiency and reduce the power generating cost by using a heat accumulating hot water source which is covered with transparent air film. CONSTITUTION:Since air film 22 prevents a hot water source 24 from waves and a splash on the surface of the sea and additionally, avoids direct contact between sea water and the atmosphere, the thermal transmission, the convection and radiation to the atmosphere may be restrained greatly. On the other hand, the air film 22 process the high permeability of the solar energy so that the solar energy goes into the hot water source 24 sufficiently. The bottom film 23 absorbs the solar energy. The energy of the sunlight S which passes through the air film 22 and goes into the hot water source 24 is stored in the form of heat in the sea water within the hot water source 24 by both the adiabatic effect of the air film 22 and the absorbing effect of the bottom film 23. In short, the hot water source 24 processes the heat accumulating effect so that the temperature of sea water inside the hot water source 24 may become relatively higher than the temperature of sea water inside the open hot water source. The thermal efficiency may then be improved. In addition, the additional facility cost relating to the improvement in the thermal efficiency may become lower without increase in consumed power inside the plant, hence reflecting reduction in power generating cost. |
