Summary:PURPOSE:To obviate the travel of a loading unit in a cargo container and eliminate restrictions on the outline dimensions of a cargo loading area by shifting and controlling the loading space of the cargo container interlocked with the operation of the loading unit. CONSTITUTION:When cargoes A have been stacked in plural tiers up to the predetermined height, the control part 26 of a cargo loading and discharging device 2 interlocked with the control part 36 of a loading device 3 actuates a drive motor 24, thereby causing the forward travel of a conveyor belt 22 by a distance corresponding to the depth of the cargoes A. As a result of the conveyor travel, a space allowing cargo loading is formed at the loading inlet 11 of a cargo container 1 and the cargoes A are loaded one after another in the space, using the loading device 3. When the cargoes A have been loaded up to the last row via the repeating of the aforesaid process, a relevant signal is outputted from the control part 26 to the control part 36 of the loading device 3, and this control part 36 stops feeding the cargoes A from a feed part 32.
