Summary:PURPOSE:To detect smoke and flame with a high accuracy and effectively perform automatic ventilation by disposing a smoke sensor which, upon sensing smoke etc., outputs a signal and a frame sensor which, upon sensing flame, outputs a signal in the ceiling, and using a simultaneous feed/purge type duct fan as a ventilation device. CONSTITUTION:When a cigarette is lighted by a gas lighter, etc., in a room 3, the flame is detected by a flame sensor 2, and an intermediate duct fan 4 is immediately operated. Since the intermediate fan 4 is of a simultaneous feed/purge type, dirty air in the room 3 is purged while fresh air outdoors 5 is fed at the same time, shortening the time needed for cleaning the room 3. On the other hand, the cigarette smoke continue to rise for some time after the ventilation is started, a smoke sensor 1 detects such smoke and outputs a signal. When the ventilation has been done enough after smoking was over, the output signal from the smoke sensor 1 is terminated, and the operation of the intermediate duct fan 4 is stopped.
