Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce granular noise of a still picture by correcting the noise in a picture signal based on a picture signal representing the next picture and a picture signal representing one pattern outputted from a storage means and using the corrected picture signal so as to rewrite the storage of a storage means. CONSTITUTION:A changeover switch circuit 3 is thrown to the position of a terminal 3a and an output picture signal of a TV camera 11 is fed to a memory 12. The memory 12 stores one pattern during a write period A1. Then the circuit 3 is thrown to the position of a terminal 3b, the next picture is fed to an adder 1, the memory 12 starts adding the preceding picture signal to the adder 1 during the write period A2 as soon as the addition is started and the adder 1 adds a picture signal representing the sum to a divider 2. The divider 2 applies 1/2 multiplication and the picture signal representing the quotient is fed to the memory 12. As a result, the memory 12 updates the storage. Thus, the noise level is halved.
