Summary:PURPOSE:To minimize the increase of vapor pressure generated in a boiler and prevent the generation of water hammer in a spray pipeline, by a method wherein a water filling system is provided in a spray valve, a spray nozzle and the connecting pipeline thereof while the system from the spray valve to the spray nozzle is filled by water at all times. CONSTITUTION:When a temperature reducing spray valve 10 is closed fully, the specified flow rate of hot-water is supplied by the pipeline 13b and the orifice 13a of the water filling line 13 of a temperature reducing device at all times to fill the spray valve 10 for the temperature reducing device, a pipeline 14 and the nozzle box 11a of the temperature reducing device with water. When a condenser attemperator spray valve 20 is closed fully, the specified flow rate of water is supplied at all times by the pipeline 23b and the orifice 23a of a condenser attemperator water filling system 23 to fill the condenser attemperator spray valve 20, the pipeline 24 and an attemperator spray header 21a with water. According to this method, the spray valve, the spray nozzle and the connecting pipeline can be filled with water when the spray valve 10 is opened; therefore, water hammer may be prevented. Further, spraying may be effected after a short time and a timing to open a turbine bypass valve may be quickened; therefore, the abnormal increase of a vapor pressure, generated in a boiler, may be prevented.
