PURPOSE:To improve control accuracy in the control method in the title by selectively performing overflow control and load-proportional control of an exhaust gas turbo-generator and overflow control of a diesel generator in accordance with the results of comparing a detected pressure with plural preset pressures of steam supplied to the exhaust gas turbo-generator. CONSTITUTION:A generating device of ship, etc. is provided with two systems consisting of an exhaust gas turbo-generating device 6 which rotates a steam turbine 4 to drive a generator 5 by steam supplied from an exhaust gas economizer 3 installed in the exhaust gas passage 2 of a main engine 1 and a diesel generating device 9 which drives a generator 8 by means of a diesel engine 7. In this constitution, when each of pressure switches 14, 15 is on, overflow control of the exhaust gas turbo-generating device 6 is performed. And, when one 14 of pressure switches is off and the other 15 is on, load-proportional control is performed. Further, when both pressure switches 14, 15 are off, overflow control of the diesel generating device 9 is performed.
