Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a toothpaste having improved stability of vitamin E with time and filled in a container having an inner surface made of a synthetic resin, by using vitamin E and a specific (bi)carbonate as essential components of the toothpaste. CONSTITUTION:A toothpaste containing vitamin E is compounded with a salt selected from sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, calcium bicarbonate and magnesium bicarbonate and filled in a container having synthetic resin inner surface. The content of vitamin E in the toothpaste is preferably 0.001-5wt.% and that of the salt is preferably 0.1-50wt.%, especially 0.5-25wt.%.
