Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the weatherability and finished appearance of a coated film and to maintain the appearance for a long period by using a curable paint consisting essentially of a nonaqueous liq. dispersion with a fluorine-contg. polymer contg. a fluorolefin as the essential component as the dispersant as a top clear paint. CONSTITUTION:A base paint contg. metallic pigment is coated, and then a transparent top clear paint is coated on the coated surface. In this case, an org. solvent-type paint or a nonaqueous dispersion-type paint is used as the base paint. The curable paint consisting essentially of the nonaqueous liq. dispersion, obtained by polymerizing a radical-polymerizable monomer in an org. solvent wherein the radical-polymerizable monomer is soluble and the polymer of the monomer is insoluble in the presence of a dispersion stabilizer consisting of an org. solvent-soluble fluorine-contg. polymer contg. a fluorolefin as the essential component, having about 5,000-120,000 weight average mol.wt., and contg. about 1-60wt.% fluorine atom, is used as the top clear paint.
