Summary:PURPOSE:To perform stable multi-value recording by utilizing the cross talk of a division driving recording system, by heating the adjacent recording pixel simultaneously with a recording pixel in said system. CONSTITUTION:A line start signal rises at the start time of recording and gradation data is latched by a latch circuit 22. Rom 23 inputs the gradation data to output recording dot driving data and adjacent pixel driving data to a selector 24 corresponding to the gradation data and the selector 24 selects one of the recording dot driving data, adjacent pixel driving data and non- recording data outputted from Rom 23 in each timing to output the same to Rom 25. Rom 25 setting the driving data selected in the selector 24 to an address respectively outputs the thermal head driving pulse width and pulse peak value corresponding to the designated driving data to PPG 26 and a variable power source 27. PPG 26 outputs a transistor driving pulse width to bring a transistor 28 into a continuity state only for a pulse present time.
