Summary:PURPOSE:To quickly focus an image to improve the operability by limiting the incident light detection area in a light receiving part to a part near the center part of a finder frame in accordance with the switching operation from manual focusing to auto-focusing by a one-shot switch. CONSTITUTION:When a one-shot switch 19 is operated for the purpose of switching the manual focusing mode to the auto-focusing mode, an operation signal 20 is inputted to a controller 12, and a focusing lens 1 is moved through a focusing driving part 17 to focus the image on a CCD light receiving part 11. Simultaneously, a zoom lens 4 is moved in the direction of an arrow A through a zooming driving part 21 by the signal from the controller 12, and the optical path is changed from the solid-line position to the broken-line position. As the result, a TCL sensor 2 senses only a part, whose diameter is an about half of the light receiving part 11, near the center part in a finder frame 13 because the image is expanded, and the image is quickly focused with a good responsiveness.
