Summary:PURPOSE:To prepare the titled flame-retardant and low-smoking foam, by compounding a specific cyclic phosphonyl chloride derivative having an amino group in the preparation of polyurethane foam. CONSTITUTION:A cyclic phosphonyl chloride derivative of formula[n>=3; m>=2; x+y=2n-m; R is 1-8C (halogenated) alkyloxy, etc.] (e.g. 1,1'-diaminotetrachlorocyclotriphosphazene) is added in the preparation of a polyurethane foam from an organic polyisocyanate (e.g. tolylene diisocyanate), a polyhydroxy compound[e.g. poly(oxypropylene)triol having an average molecular weight of about 3,000 and an OH value of 56], a foaming agent (e.g. trichloromonofluoromethane), a foam stabilizer (e.g. silicone foam stabilizer), a catalyst (e.g. triethylenediamine), etc. The amount of the phosphonyl chloride derivative is e.g. 2-5 PHR.
