Summary:PURPOSE:To enhance performance as an electrophotographic sensitive body by forming a photosensitive body of multilayer structure obtained by forming a layer made of a resin dispersed pigment on a conductive substrate composed of a phenol resin layer and an aluminum layer coating the re sin layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body is provided with the layer formed by dispersing the pigment into the resin formed on the conductive substrate formed by coating the phenol resin layer with the aluminum layer. This photosensitive body is based on a functionally separated type, that is, a double layer type composed of at least an electric charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer, and as the charge generating layer, an azo type pigment, such as Sudan Red, Dian Blue, or Genius Green B, is used, and it is dispersed into the organic binder resin, in a comparatively high concentration to form the charge generating layer. As the compound for constituting the charge transfer layer, anthracene, pyrene, and the like are enumerated, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be widely used for the electrophotographic application fields, such as laser printers, CRT printers, and electrophotomechanical plate-making systems.
