Summary: | PURPOSE:To strengthen the bonding between resins and to form a thin uniform film, by modifying the surface of a steel material by performing the graft polymerization of a monomer of a different kind of an org. resin and the org. resin applied to the steel material. CONSTITUTION:A monomer having an electron beam reactive functional group or a solution of said monomer is applied to the surface of an org. resin coated steel material. Next, a sheet-like material such as a plastic film or a metal foil is laminated to the monomer layer on the steel material so as to be closely adhered thereto and, when electron beam is directed onto the steel material from the side of the sheet-like material, the electron beam easily passes through the monomer layer to make it possible to perform the graft polymerization of the monomer to the entire surface of the org. resin on the steel material. After irradiation with the electron beam, the sheet-like material is released to remove the unreacted monomer or monomer solution on the surface of the org. resin. Hereupon, only the monomer subjected to graft polymerization remains on the surface of the steel material and the surface of the steel material is modified. |
