Summary:PURPOSE:To stably supply a developer to a developing area by providing a separating member which is brought into contact with the outside peripheral surface of a developing sleeve to separate the developer from the surface of the developing sleeve and supplies it onto the developing sleeve again just after. CONSTITUTION:A scraper 32 is attached to the front end of a holder 31 and the whole of them is formed into an about L shape to constitute a separating member 30, and plural slits 34 partitioned by ribs 33 are formed in the front end side of the scraper 21 in the axial direction of a developing sleeve 10. When the developer mixed to have a proper density reaches the front end part of the scraper 32 after the carrying quantity of this developer is controlled by the counter part of a crest height control plate 22, the developer is separated from the surface of the developing sleeve 10 and is carried along the upper face of the scraper 32 in the direction of an arrow (b) and is held on the surface of the developing sleeve 10 again through slits 34, and flocculation of a highly electrified toner is dispersed longitudinally and transversely if it is included in the developer. Thus, images of high quality are obtained.
