Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain an image with high accuracy and high definition, by detecting a timing mark consisting of a dark part such as a black line or a black band, etc., provided on a reference white board by using an automatic exposure device. CONSTITUTION:The timing mark 15 consisting of the dark part, for example, the black line is provided on or at the front of the reference white board 3, and a picture tip signal and a resist timing signal are controlled by the timing mark 15. Initially, an original platen is positioned at a start position, and an original exposure lamp 4 projects the reference white board 3. The timing mark 15 bonded on a stipulated point P1 is irradiated according to the scan of the original platen 2, and its reflected light is detected by a photosensor 13, and based on the timing, a resist is rotated, and is set so that it arrives at an image tip P2 at a time stipulated by a timer hereafter. In other words, resists or the image tip signal can be decided by detecting the timing mark 15 provided on the reference white board.
