Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduced image less in ringing by taking a difference between a detected frame pulse and a comparison signal and outputting data correcting the phase of a sampling clock to correct the phase of a VCO. CONSTITUTION:An input signal changeover switch 115 selects either an input signal to be emphasized or an input signal not emphasized and sends the result to an A/D converter. Either of comparison signal generating circuits 112, 113 is selected by a comparison signal changeover switch 116 in interlocking with the changeover switch and sent to a ringing detection circuit 111. The ringing detection circuit 111, when no emphasis is applied to, e.g., an input signal, subtracts an output of a frame pulse detection circuit 110 from an output of a comparator signal generating circuit 113 to detect a ringing at each sampling point and outputs data correcting the sampling phase to decrease the ringing.
