Summary:PURPOSE:To stably and easily accumulate a protein single molecule film by forming in advance a functional organic thin film on a substrate or the like, and accumulating protein molecules on said thin film. CONSTITUTION:An organic thin film for accumulating protein molecules with an orientation by Langmuir projet method (LB method) or further through electron transmission is formed on a substrate. For example, TCNQ derivative chloroform solution is dropped on the water surface 11 of a water tank coated with Teflon, and a TCNQ derivative single molecular film 12 is formed on the water surface. When a glass substrate 10 deposited with an Au electrode is inserted perpendicularly to the tank to be dipped, a TCNQ derivative film 12 of one layer is bonded on the substrate 10. When the substrate 10 is then dipped in aqueous solution 14 of cytochrome (c), a cytochrome (c) film 13 is bonded on the film 12. Thus, the cytochrome (c) is bonded with the orientation directed regularly. Thereafter, the substrate 10 is drawn out of the aqueous solution, and dried in a nitrogen gas stream.
