Summary:PURPOSE:To always keep an angle between a pickup and a disc at a normal angle by detecting an RF signal while wobbling the pickup and using the RF signal and an exciting signal so as to detect the tilt between the pickup and the disc. CONSTITUTION:The direction of the change in the envelope of the RF signal has a prescribed relation to the direction of the tilt of the pickup by a tilt means 18. A comparator circuit 16 compares the phase of the exciting signal outputted from a generating 17 and the envelope signal of the RF signal outputted from a detection means 14 and outputs a signal corresponding to the direction of the change in the envelope of the RF signal and its quantity. The signal is inputted to a tilt control means 20 to adjust the tilt angle of the pickup to the disc. Thus, the accurate tracking servo is realized and the angle between the pickup and the disc is always kept to the normal angle.
