Summary: | PURPOSE:To prevent a side plate from being damaged, by holding this side plate via a minute clearance between a peripheral wall and a bottom wall of a concave part housing the side, plate, in case of a device attaching the side plate composed of a ceramic material to the side of a sliding surface of a side housing. CONSTITUTION:A rotary piston engine is constituted of locking a pair of side housing 1 tight to both sides of a rotor housing having a trochoidal inner circumferential surface 61, and also constituted of housing an almost polygonal rotor in a rotor chamber 64 to be formed in the inner part free of eccentric rotation. In this case, an annular concave part 6 is formed in a sliding part to which a rotor slidingly contacts at an inner side 1a of the side housing 1. And, a side plate 3 in form similar to this annular concave part 6 is formed into proper thickness with a proper ceramic material, and this side plate is housed and held between a peripheral wall and a bottom wall each of the annular concave part 6. With this constitution, damage to the side plate 3 due to a thermal expansion difference and a pressure impact in these members 1 and 3 is prevented from occurring. |
