Summary:PURPOSE:To omit the action of returning to a starting point at the time of turning on a power source and enable position control with high accuracy by writing a detected position which is read out from an absolute position detecting device, as a reference, into a detected position register and a command position register. CONSTITUTION:When a power source is tuned on, the absolute position of a table 1 in its initial state, is calculated by a position operating device 12 based on detected data which are detected by a linear type position detector 11 and a resolver 4 and, after transferred to a detected position register 5, it is corrected by a function-type error correcting device 9 at an addition part 10 and, then, transferred to a command position register 6. Then, the register 6 is rewritten according to a traveling command from an NC device, and a motor 3 is driven based on difference between the value of the command position in the register 6 and the value in which correction is given to the present position, in a detected position register 5. The position of the table 1 during traveling is detected by the detector 11 and the revolver 4, calculated as the absolute position in the detected position register 5 and, after corrected to the accurate absolute position of the table 1 by means of the error correcting device 9, it is compared with the command position, thereby, enabling the accurate driving of the table 1.
