Summary:PURPOSE:To make it possible to uniformly and thinly apply an adhesive from both up- and down-directions in an arbitrary coating amount, by using a coating head constituted by grasping a shim having a desired notch part by a pair of shoes. CONSTITUTION:In a coating head 1 adapted to a paper diaper manufacturing apparatus, an adhesive is pushed in a diffusion passage 15 under pressure from the inlets of shoes 12, 13 and extruded to the outside from the slits of a shim 11. Because a sheet is moved while keeping contact with the slide surfaces 16, 17 of the shoes 12, 13, the adhesive extruded from the slits 14 is applied to the sheet in a pattern corresponding to the shape of each slit 14. Because the adhesive slowly issued from the slits 14 is successively applied to the sheet slid with the shoes 12, 13, the sheet can be coated from the upper and lower parts of the sheet and, if the shim 11 having the slits having a different shape can be applied at desired intervals.
