Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain white electrically conductive sheath-core type conjugate fibers without losing electric conductivity by flex abrasion, by heat-treating electrically conductive fibers consisting of a sheath part of a fiber-forming polymer and a core part of a low-temperature flowable highly crystalline high polymer containing a fine particulate metal oxide at a specific temperature for a given time. CONSTITUTION:Electrically conductive fibers consisting of a sheath part consisting of a fiber-forming polymer, e.g., polyethylene terephthalate, and a core part consisting of a low-temperature flowable highly crystalline high polymer. e.g. polyethylene, containing a dispersed fine particulate metal oxide, preferably stannic oxide or zinc oxide are heat-treated at >=100 deg.C, preferably 120-210 deg.C for >=10sec, preferably 20sec-5min to afford the aimed electrically conductive fibers. EFFECT:Highly antistatic fabrics without twining and dust sticking even subjected to wearing for a long time or repeated washing, etc., are obtained.
