Summary:PURPOSE:To retrieve the same position through the retrieval of the time code of a video signal or a digital data signal, by detecting a subcode frame of the digital data signal and producing the time code of the digital data signal in response to the count value of detection signals. CONSTITUTION:A subcode frame of the digital data signal recorded on a video disk and the number of subcode frames is added by one up to 75 in case the second value equal to 10, 20, 30 and 50 at an even time point. Other wide, the number of subcode frames is set at 74. While the number of subcode frames is added by one up to 75 when the second value is equal to either one of 0, 10, 30, 40 and 50 at an odd time point. Otherwise, 74 is set.Thus coincidence is secured between the reference time of a video frame and that of a subcode frame.
