Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a compact optical system by superposing a cylindrical surface collecting optical system to a cylindrical surface optical system having a single cylindrical surface in the optical axis direction and inserting a reflection surface between both the superposed optical systems to constitute a folded optical system. CONSTITUTION:Two cylindrical surface collecting lens plates 5, 6 are arranged in parallel with each other with a prescribed interval so that respective planes are opposed and optical axes of respective cylindrical surface lenses of both the lens plates 5, 6 are matched. A cylindrical surface lens 500 is a single cylindrical surface lens turning its axis in the X direction, the length is the same as that of the lens plates 5, 6 in the X direction, the width dy is larger than dx, and one side is a plane. The other cylindrical surface lens 600 has the same constitution. The plane side of the lens 500 is arranged in parallel with the plane side of the lens plate 5 and the plane side of the lens 600 is similarly arranged in parallel with the plane side of the lens plate 6. Consequently, a compact optical system can be obtained.
