Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain color image signal having stable color resolution at all times by removing the influence of infrared light outputted from a light source, by inserting a filter that cuts the infrared light component of specified range of wavelength. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from a fluorescent lamp 1 is detected by a light receiver 6 through a filter 5 that cuts infrared light component. The quantity of light detected by the light receiver 6 is fed back to a lighting circuit 2 and the quantity of emission of the fluorescent lamp 1 is controlled. Light emitted by the fluorescent lamp 1 is irradiates on an original 9 placed on a glass plate 8 which is an original mounting stand through a filter 7 that cuts infrared component. Reflected light from the original 9 caused by the light irradiation formes an image on a CCD line sensor 12 through a color separation filter 11 by the rod lens array 10 of distributed refraction type and photoelectricaly converted. Reflected light component from the original 9 photoelectricaly converted by the CCD line sensor 12 is outputted from an amplifier 13 through an A/D converter 14 as original reading signals.
