Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the titled granules useful as a sweetener for table use, etc., with good granulation operability in high quality at a low cost without subjecting the granules to a drying process, by adding an aqueous solution of a saccharide to anhydrous crystalline glucose under specific conditions and granulating the resultant mixture. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of a saccharide, e.g. aqueous solution of glucose or sorbitol, in >=30wt% concentration is added to anhydrous crystalline glucose to give 7-16wt% based on the above-mentioned anhydrous crystalline glucose normally by spraying. The resultant mixture is then granulated by the method of extrusion granulation, granulation in a sand granulator, fluidized bed granulation or mixed granulation, etc., to afford the aimed granules. The aqueous solution of the saccharide is preferably at 40-60 deg.C, and the mixture is preferably subjected to the granulation process generally within 15min after addition.
