Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a high speed and perfect process by providing the first picture memory that stores a two-dimentional picture data, a coordinate transformation arithmetic apparatus that calculates a read out address corresponding to the fluctuation extent of a picture data and the second picture memory that stores the picture data read out from the first picture memory. CONSTITUTION:An address generating part 11 outputs an (x) and (y) address signal A based upon a raster scan coordinate system and converts it to a (u) and (v) signal A' based upon a (u) and (v) coordinate system at a coordinate transformation part 2 and also outputs a null area signal N, performing an access to an original picture 3a with the signal A'. Meanwhile, so that a normalizing picture memory 3b is accessed by the (x) and (y) address signal A from an address generating part 12, the data on (u) and (v) coordinates in the original picture memory 3a is written on the (x) and (y) coordinates in the normalizing picture memory 3b, and after the scannings on all requested areas are performed by the address generating parts 11 and 12, the data of the original picture 3a is affine-transformed, being stored at the memory 3b as the normalized picture.
