Summary:PURPOSE:To have an efficient operation of a multi-computer used aboard a car by supplying power to one computer system during key off time, performing data transfer between two computer systems immediately before it, and thereby reducing the power consumption of the whole device. CONSTITUTION:When a key switch 102 is turned off, the STBY signal 104 is immediately inverted to 0 level and the data accumulated during operation of the car is transferred to the master microcomputer system 113 from the slave microcomputer system 114 and stored there in memory, and then the data transfer is stopped. The master microcomputer 113, which is supplied with power as long as a battery 101 is in connection, works for those parts which shall operate all the time such as a clock part and also has a function to place the data in memory while the key switch 102 is off. The slave microcomputer system 114 is put out of power supply while the key switch 102 is off to reduce power consumption.
